The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Kaduna Branch has announced an exciting array of activities lined up for its Annual Law Week 2024, scheduled to hold from June 21 to June 25.
This year’s Law Week is themed “Rethinking Legal Practice in Today’s World: Litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Technology.”
In a press release signed by B.L. Aliyu, FCIArb (UK), Chairman of the Law Week Planning Committee, the branch has partnered with the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) of the NBA to deliver a comprehensive program for legal professionals and enthusiasts.
The week-long event kicks off on June 21 with Friday prayers at the Sultan Bello Mosque, followed by a friendly football match between the NBA Kaduna Branch and KASTLEA at the Ranchers Bees Stadium.
On June 22, members and their families are invited to a picnic at Goshen Park in Sabo, Kaduna, providing an opportunity for networking and socializing.
The following day, June 23, a Sunday service will be held at the ECWA Church behind the Kaduna State Correctional Centre.
The main event takes place on June 24 at the Sardauna Memorial Hall, Race Course, where the Chief Judge of Kaduna State will declare the Law Week open. The highlight of the day will be a keynote speech delivered by Tobenna Erojikwe, the Chairman of the Governing Council of the ICLE, focusing on the theme of the week.
Additionally, a session on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Prospects & Challenges is scheduled, featuring a presentation by the Kaduna Multi-Door Courthouse and a discussion panel comprising Hon. Justice John Ambi, MCIArb, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, and Chukwuka Ikwuazom, SAN.
On the final day, June 25, the ICLE will conduct a training session on Mining Law specifically tailored for Northern lawyers.
Registration for the NBA Kaduna Branch Law Week 2024 is currently open at www.nbakaduna.org/lawweek2024 and will close on June 5, 2024.
